That "dentist's office" comment is a gut punch, but it's a gift. Most people just leave and never tell you why. He gave you a real clue to fix things.

Ugh, but what if the guy just had a weird thing about overhead lighting? Maybe it's not a whole vibe problem, just one bad lamp.

Soft lamps and houseplants fixed that for me.
