The neighbor who stopped me from frosting a warm cake, best advice ever
Last Sunday I pulled a chocolate layer cake out of the oven, let it sit maybe 5 minutes, and started slathering buttercream on it. It slid right off the stand and landed face down on my counter, total mess. My neighbor Karen from across the street saw the whole thing through my kitchen window and came over to tell me she waits at least 45 minutes before touching any cake with frosting. Has anyone else had a cake collapse from rushing the cooling process, or am I the only impatient one in this group?

Did the cake at least taste okay after you scooped it back up? I mean, we've all been there once, right?
