The time my aunt told me my pie crust was 'too rough' at Thanksgiving

She said it right at the table, in front of everyone. I'd spent 3 hours making that pie from scratch, used real butter and everything. The crust was flaky, but I guess she wanted it more tender. Still stings a little, but I've been experimenting with different fat ratios ever since. Anybody else have a family member who's brutally honest about your baking?

My aunt always said my gravy looked like sludge, but her own was lumpy every year.

That reminds me of my friend Gina who spent years perfecting her green bean casserole because her mother-in-law called it "soggy" one time. She finally gave up trying to please her and just brought store-bought cookies instead, which the mother-in-law then complained were too dry. The family just silently ate her casserole and nobody said a word after that.
