Spent 3 hours trying to get my sourdough to rise and it was my starter that was the problem

I finally figured out my starter needed to be fed twice a day instead of once, and now my loaves actually have air pockets. How often do you guys feed your starters in winter?

Fed mine twice a day when it was cold and that finally fixed it. Also kept it on top of the fridge where it was a little warmer, helped a ton.

Yeah I tried the top of the fridge trick too. My starter just sat there looking at me like I was crazy though. Pretty sure it was mocking me. But once I doubled up on feedings it actually came back to life. Now I have enough discard to feed a small army.
