I said you can skip the resistance check on a pitot heat swap, then a Cessna came back with a dead probe
Last month at a grass strip outside Waco I rushed a pitot heat replacement to make a customer's flight and skipped the ohm check on the new element, and he came back after 3 days with no heat and a squawk I had to eat. Now I check every element before the cowl goes back on, even when the box says tested. Anyone else have a short cut that cost them a return trip?
