A pilot in Anchorage gave me a nod after a tough autopilot fix

We had a King Air 200 with a nagging pitch trim runaway. Spent two days tracing it to a faulty servo amplifier, part number 066-50032-2103. The captain watched me finish the ops check, just said 'Solid work, kid' before he walked to the plane. Anyone else have a simple comment from crew that just made the grind feel worth it?

Keep a spare servo amp in stock.

It's the same reason I have extra phone chargers stashed everywhere. The one thing you don't have a backup for is the thing that dies.

Totally get the "one thing you don't have a backup for" idea. I read this article once that called it the "law of the single point of failure." It basically said we're good at backing up the obvious stuff, but we always miss that one critical link. It's why my car's spare tire is fine, but the jack to lift the car was missing last time I checked. You just never see it coming until it's too late.
