Question about the $75 deposit trick that saved my car from a broker in Phoenix
Almost signed with a broker who wanted $200 up front just to "lock in" a pickup date for my Civic from Phoenix to Denver. Instead I called the actual carrier directly, and they only asked for a $75 deposit that comes off the final bill. The broker's quote was $1,150 and the carrier did it for $890, no middleman calling me every day. Has anyone else noticed the direct carriers are the ones actually asking for small deposits while brokers want the full fee upfront?
