The Tuesday my lift arm dropped a 2013 F-150 on the shop floor and the boss just laughed
Lost the lock pin somewhere around 9am and the truck came down slow enough that nobody got hurt, but I spent 40 minutes under the frame looking for a $3 part while the customer watched from the lobby window. Anybody got a trick for keeping those pins from walking off, or do you just buy them in a 5 pack?

I read somewhere that a guy used a short chunk of chain and welded it to his lift frame, then hooked the pin on a carabiner so it can't roll far even if it pops loose. He said the pin still comes out sometimes but it just dangles instead of vanishing into the floor drain. There's also the trick of drilling a tiny hole through the pin head and running a zip tie to the arm, sounds dumb but it works. My old shop lead kept a magnet on a stick behind the bay just for fishing pins out from under stuff. Buying them 5 at a time helps too but that gets pricey if you're losing one a week.
