Old diesel mechanic told me to check fuel return line before replacing injectors on a 7.3 Powerstroke

I spent 3 hours pulling injectors on a customer's 2002 F-350 before he walked over and pointed at a kinked return line that was causing all the misfires, has anyone else had a simple hose ruin their whole diagnosis?

Pulled my hair out for two days on a 6.0 once, chasing a low fuel pressure code. Turned out the check valve in the fuel filter housing was stuck open, letting fuel drain back to the tank overnight. I started carrying a cheap fuel pressure gauge in my box after that. Always check the easy stuff first, even if it feels like a waste of time... saved me a lot of scraped knuckles.

Always the simplest stuff that'll trip you up, isn't it?

Tripped over my own feet yesterday just walking, @sarah_patel25.
