I always help my coworker who falls behind, but others call it coddling

Some say stepping in keeps the whole shop on schedule. Others argue it just lets weak skills stay weak. How do you guys handle this?

But does your help actually teach them anything long term? I mean, showing someone a shortcut versus just doing their tasks for them (which is what people usually mean by coddling) are two totally different things.

Agree with smith.anna! I once taught a coworker a shortcut that actually stuck.

Sometimes a shortcut is all the teaching they need.
