The customer who told me I was buffing too slow and to just use a wool pad dry

I laughed at first, but then I tried it on a test panel and learned exactly why you don't skip compound on a dry scratch - $400 later and a repaint that I had to eat half the labor on, anyone else ever get advice from someone who's never held a DA?

Are we really acting like one bad experiment costs the same as a full repaint? Your story doesn't quite add up to me.

Is it really that deep though? One messy experiment can't be that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

$400 is brutal man I feel for you. @val_williams I get why it sounds off but when you're a small shop one bad job can absolutely wreck your month especially when you have to eat half the labor like that. Hope the next customer's advice is a bit more helpful lol.
