Spent 6 hours matching a single candy red paint blend

I was trying to fix a chip on a 2018 Mustang in candy apple red, and it took me 6 tries and a full 4 hours to get the tint right. The pearl additive kept shifting the color weird under different shop lights. Has anyone else struggled with metallic reds taking way longer than expected?

Laugh at myself every time I think I've got reds figured out, then spend half a day proving I don't. @the_richard probably has a point about commitment, but I figure if I'm going to lose, I might as well lose slowly and with a decent paint job. Those pearls and metallics just refuse to behave under any light but the one you aren't using.
