My air hose coupler gave out mid-spray on a fender yesterday
I was laying down the last coat of clear on a Honda Civic fender when the coupler at the gun just popped off. Paint went everywhere, mostly on my boot. I had to stop, clean the mess, and swap the coupler with a spare Milton one from my box. Has anyone else had a cheap coupler fail like that, and what brand do you trust now?

Man, I gotta disagree. I've had Milton couplers fail on me too, honestly. They're not all that special. I mean, it's just a metal piece with a spring inside, right? Any brand can have a bad one. I've had way better luck just cleaning and oiling the ones I have every so often. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think swapping brands is the real fix.

Totally get that! Honestly, just replacing the o-ring inside a worn coupler fixes it like 90% of the time for me. Saves a bunch of money over buying a whole new one.

Yeah, the "just a metal piece with a spring" thing is right... but that spring is the whole point. A weak spring means a bad seal. I've had cheap ones fail right out of the package.
