Customer said my primer was too thick and I didn't listen at first
Guy brings in a 2018 F-150 with a rocker panel job. I shoot my usual two coats of high-build, block it smooth, looks fine. He comes back to pick it up and points out orange peel under the shop lights I missed. Said my primer was laid on like cake frosting. I thinned it down 15% more than my normal mix on the next job and that stuff leveled out flat as glass. Anyone else had to re-learn how to thin their primer based on a customer's eye?

You ever have a customer who just knows their stuff better than you do? I've had to eat crow a few times when a sharp eye called me out on my primer work. Thinning it down more than my usual mix made a world of difference for me too, it just laid out so much smoother. Sometimes you gotta respect the feedback even if it stings a little.

Eating crow is just part of the job description at this point, isn't it?" At least the customer saves you from having to learn the hard way yourself.
