Warning: Cleaning up satellite trails in astrophotos feels like cheating to some

I kept getting white lines across my star cluster images from passing satellites. It messed up the whole frame. I found a stacking method that automatically removes these streaks. Now, one side says any editing breaks the truth of the photo. The other side argues we should fix man-made clutter to see space better. I lean towards cleaning it up for a clearer picture. What's your take on this?

Seriously, why the big debate? All astrophotos get processed anyway. Those satellite lines are just man-made junk. Cleaning them up shows the real space stuff better. It's not cheating, it's fixing a problem. Nobody gets upset about editing out dust spots. So what's the big deal?

Come on, @the_emery, you're blowing this way out of proportion. Cleaning satellite lines is basic photo editing, not some ethical dilemma. Every astro photo gets tweaked to show what's really there. The debate feels like people just want something to argue about. It's not that serious.

My first telescope shot (back in 2020) got ruined by satellite lines.
