I tried two ways to shoot the Milky Way from my backyard in Flagstaff

Last month, I took a single 30-second exposure and a stack of 20 shorter 10-second shots of the same spot. The stacked image was so much cleaner, with way less noise and more detail in the dust lanes. I used DeepSkyStacker for the first time and was really surprised by the difference it made. For anyone else doing this, do you find stacking is always worth the extra time?

What's the main thing Siril does better than DeepSkyStacker?

Stacking is almost always worth it for deep sky stuff. Just a heads up, DeepSkyStacker is great to start with but it's pretty old now. Most people have moved on to newer software like Siril.
