Roman bathhouse in Bath or the fake mosaic they added last summer?

I stopped at the Roman Baths in Bath two weeks ago and noticed they had a modern mosaic patch near the east corner that was clearly done with new tiles. The guide said it was for preservation, but I couldn't stop staring at how it breaks the whole visual flow. Some folks argue reconstructed bits help visitors picture the original, while others say it cheapens the real history. What do you think, should site managers leave gaps or fill them in with obvious replacements?

Same thing happened to me at a castle last year, they patched a whole wall with bright new bricks and it looked like a lego set. I get the preservation angle but it totally kills the vibe when you're trying to imagine how old it actually is. Leave the gaps, let people use their imagination a bit, that's half the fun.
