Just read something wild about the Great Pyramid's weight
I was looking at a book about ancient Egypt in my local library yesterday and saw a number that blew my mind. It said the Great Pyramid of Giza is made of about 2.3 million stone blocks. I mean, I knew it was big, but that number is just crazy to picture. The book said each block weighs around 2.5 tons on average, so the whole thing is over 6 million tons. It's one thing to see a picture, but seeing the actual math makes you realize how much work that was. Has anyone else stumbled on a fact about an old site that just made you stop and think?

But is it that big a deal when they had thousands of years to do it?

Yeah, that "over 6 million tons" part is the real kicker. It makes you wonder how they even planned the lunch breaks for that job. Just an insane amount of work for any time period.

The lunch break thing is funny, I read somewhere that coleman.gray's "thousands of years" point is actually way off.
