Classic. Those things are almost always a scam. You're better off just googling the error code.

Oh man, I learned that the hard way a few years back. I almost called one of those numbers because the pop-up looked so real and scary. My search history was just me freaking out and typing "is my computer really broken help" over and over. Google saved me from myself that day, for sure.

Totally agree. I got a pop-up once saying my drive was corrupted and to call a number. Googled it and it was a known virus. Those sites just want to scare you into paying for fake support. A quick search usually finds the real fix on a legit forum. Saves so much time and money.
