Just realized why I dread holiday gatherings now
My uncle always corners me at events to ask about his noisy dryer. He never listens when I say to call a pro. Last time, he tried adjusting the belt himself and it snapped. Now he blames me for not helping enough, and I spent my Thanksgiving fixing it. I just want to eat pie in peace.

You actually had to fix his dryer on Thanksgiving? After he messed up the belt himself? That's some serious family guilt tripping. Dryer belts snapping from DIY fixes can wreck the whole machine. Hope you got a huge slice of pie as payment for that hassle.

A repair guy on YouTube said snapped belts can bend the drum if you're not careful. Kinda makes you think twice before trying it yourself.

Family duty calls even on Thanksgiving, doesn't it? @the_emery is right about how a snapped belt can bend the drum and cause more damage. Fixing that kind of DIY mistake turns into a huge hassle, especially on a holiday. Pie helps, but you still miss out on relaxing with everyone else.
