Am I the only one who ditched the Fluke for a $40 Klein and stopped second guessing my readings?
Bought a Klein MM325 at a supply house in Mesa three months back since my Fluke 87 was getting sent out for cal and I needed something same day. Honestly for checking heater circuits and thermistors on dryers the Klein has been dead on, I cross checked it against a known good meter on about 15 service calls and it never drifted more than a tenth of an ohm. Feels weird trusting a cheap meter but the Fluke lives in the truck now and the Klein is what I grab first. Anybody else running budget meters on real calls or am I asking for trouble down the road?
That tenth of an ohm you're bragging about on a dryer thermistor means nothing when the Klein's safety rating falls apart on a 480V panel, and that MM325 is only CAT III 600V. Save the 40 dollar hero stories for low voltage, I'd rather eat the cal fee than trust a cheap meter where an arc flash lives.
