I finally decided to watch 'Monster' after putting it off for years

For the longest time, I kept choosing shorter, newer shows over it because of the 74 episode count. Last month, I made myself start the first episode and just kept going. I finished the whole thing over three weeks, mostly after work. The story really pulled me in, especially the part with the library in Prague. What's another long series that's worth the time investment?

74 episodes is a serious commitment. Glad it paid off for you, but that's a lot of hours for a cartoon about a doctor.

Actually it's not just about a doctor. The show uses that as a starting point to explore way bigger ideas. It's more like a philosophy show with a sci-fi wrapper.

You know, riley43 is totally right about it being a philosophy show. It made me wonder if that's why some people bounce off it. They go in expecting a normal mystery, but it's really asking these huge questions about what makes a person good or evil. The sci-fi stuff is just the tool it uses to dig into that. It's less about the plot twists and more about sitting with those heavy ideas. That's probably why it needs all those episodes, to really let that stuff breathe.
