Shoutout to the lab tech in Reno who told me to stop pushing my dev times
Burned through 6 rolls of Portra 400 trying to pull shadow detail that was never there. He looked at my negatives, said "your highlights are toast, fix that first," and handed me a tip about cutting dev time by 30 seconds instead. Shot a roll at the river last Sunday and the scans came back clean for once. Anyone else fighting the urge to overdevelop instead of just metering better?
