A guy at the flea market in Parma saw my Spotmatic and asked if I 'still use that old thing,' then his buddy pulled out a Leica and I just stood there | Analog Photo Lounge - Babble Community
That Leica guy probably had an M3 or M6, and here's the thing, the Spotmatic can do almost everything those do for a fraction of the cost. Spotmatics sold by the millions in the 60s and 70s and there are still tons of them working fine today, which says a lot about how they were built. Takumar lenses are no joke either, some of them hold up against glass that costs ten times more. The guy asking if you "still use that old thing" is missing the point, old does not mean bad when it comes to cameras. Honestly the Leica flex was probably covering for the fact that he does not actually shoot much with it.
