The old mechanic's two-word critique of my journaling habit
I was at a car show in Tucson back in May telling a retired mechanic about my daily log of repairs, where I just write down what I did and what I used. He said 'no numbers, no proof,' and that stung because he was right, I never wrote measurements or torque specs, just feelings about how a job went. Now I track hours spent on each project and exact gaps in brush strokes or wood grain, so has anyone else gotten blunt feedback that made you rethink how you record your hobby work?
