Had to choose between a digital planner and a paper bullet journal
I picked the paper bullet journal because I wanted to get away from screen time after work. Three months in, I've filled 42 pages with lists and doodles, and I actually remember what I wrote down better than when I used a phone app. Has anyone else found that handwriting stuff sticks in your brain more?

Swear the physical act of writing fires off different brain connections than typing. Did you find your handwriting changed at all after a few weeks? Like tighter or looser or more messy. Mine got sloppy at first then settled into a rhythm I actually like looking at now.

...and that's the thing, my handwriting got way more cramped at first. Like I was trying to keep it neat but my hand just wasn't having it. Then around week three it loosened up but got real messy in a different way. Almost like my brain was skipping ahead faster than my hand could keep up so letters started blending together. Now I kinda love how it looks though, it's got this energy to it that typing just can't capture. It's weird how your hand just finds its own groove if you let it sit for a bit without forcing things.

Huh, that brain skipping ahead faster than the hand thing really hit home. My handwriting went through the exact same arc when I started journaling again after years of just typing everything. Legit looked like a doctor's prescription for like two weeks straight. It's wild how much more character comes through on paper, even when it's a total mess.
