Showerthought: I used to hate running wire in finished walls, now I just use a flex bit.
For the longest time, I'd cut huge holes to fish wire, but after a job in a fancy Portland remodel where the homeowner freaked about drywall dust, I bought a 72-inch flex bit. It's slower but way cleaner. Anyone have a trick for when you hit a fire block with one of those things?

My friend had a real mess with a flex bit last year. He was working on an old house and that bit went right into a fire block and just stopped dead. He tried to back it out and the whole thing snapped off inside the wall. Ended up having to cut a small access hole anyway to fish the piece out with a magnet. It was one of those jobs that just eats up your whole afternoon.
