Rant: Bought a whole case of those cheap plastic wire clips that break if you look at them wrong
Back when I was starting out, I was trying to save a few bucks on supplies. I saw these generic plastic clips for securing low-voltage wire, a whole case of 500 for like $40. Seemed like a great deal compared to the brand-name stuff. Fast forward to a big install in a hot attic last summer. I'm clipping wires along the joists, and half of them just snap when I try to close them. The plastic was so brittle. I had to stop, go back to the shop, and buy the good ones, wasting a whole afternoon. That $40 'deal' probably cost me $300 in lost time and gas. Now I just stick with the solid nylon ones, even if they cost more. Anyone else have a go-to clip or strap they swear by for rough environments?

Seems a bit dramatic to call it a $300 loss. Couldn't you have just used the ones that didn't break?

Used to buy the cheap ones all the time. Learned the same lesson after a few snapped in a cold crawl space. What brand of nylon clips did you end up using?
