Serious question, is the air fryer really the best for all frozen foods?

I had to choose between using my air fryer or my old toaster oven for a box of frozen fish sticks, and I picked the toaster oven. The air fryer made them too dry and hard, while the toaster oven gave them a softer, crispier outside that my kids liked more. Has anyone else found a frozen food that just doesn't work well in the air fryer?

Nah, you gotta be doing it wrong. My air fryer makes fish sticks perfect every time, way crispier than my toaster oven ever did. You probably just had the temp too high or cooked them too long. Gotta shake the basket halfway and keep an eye on them.

My toaster oven turned the last ones into little charcoal bricks. The outside was burnt but the middle was still frozen. Maybe it's just a bad match for fish sticks. An air fryer does sound like the better tool for the job.
