My air fryer basket coating started peeling after 6 months of daily use

I got a cheap air fryer off Amazon last January and loved it until I noticed black flakes in my chicken wings last week. Turns out the nonstick coating was coming off. I trashed it and picked up a stainless steel basket model instead. Has anyone else had coating fail on them?

Wait, did he try scraping off the loose coating before eating? I feel like that's just standard fry etiquette when you get a basket that's been sitting under a heat lamp too long. Maybe it's just me, but a little flaked off breading never ruined my whole week, seems like a bit of an overreaction @the_jessica. I mean, if the whole coating slid off like a glove, yeah that's annoying, but a few crumbs in the fries? That's just bonus crunch.
