On a mountain trail, my phone's AI guide pointed out plants I'd never seen
I was hiking in the Rockies last month and decided to try a new app that uses AI to identify plants. It worked by pointing my camera at any plant, and the AI would tell me what it was. I came across this weird looking flower with purple spots. The app said it was a rare alpine species that only blooms in summer. It even gave me facts about how it survives in cold weather. Without the AI, I would have just walked right past it. Now I use the app on all my hikes to learn more about nature. It's amazing how tech can make outdoor trips so much richer.

Yeah, calling it extra work is funny because it's the opposite. So much of tech now is about not having to dig through books or remember stuff, which I see everywhere.
