Clear ice is ruining my afternoon pour overs

Am I the only one who thinks the clear ice fad is a total scam for iced coffee after 2pm? I spent 30 bucks on one of those silicone sphere molds last month and my iced pour over at like 4:30 tastes flat compared to the regular cloudy cubes from my freezer. Clear ice melts slower, sure, but that's the problem, it waters down the last few sips way more because it's still mostly solid when my drink is almost gone. I tested it 3 times with the same Ethiopian beans, same grind, same ratio, and every time the regular cubes kept the body and sweetness better throughout. I think the slow melt lets the coffee oxidize or something before it dilutes, or maybe I just don't drink fast enough. Has anyone else compared these side by side or am I crazy for ditching the fancy ice?

Oxidation isn't the issue, it's just less dilution early on changing the balance.
