Why I think thrift stores should stop raising prices on used stuff

Last week I went to the Goodwill near my place in St. Louis around 2 AM on a Wednesday. I found an old lamp that looked pretty beat up, but it had a cool retro shade. They wanted 25 bucks for it. I remember 3 years ago getting a similar lamp for 8 bucks at the same store. I get that stores have to make money, but these prices are getting close to what you'd pay for something new at a discount store. I saw a set of mugs marked 6 dollars each and they were chipped. It feels like they forget the whole point is cheap secondhand stuff for people who need it. Has anyone else noticed this creeping up in their area?

Man yeah seriously. I remember filling up my old Civic for like 20 bucks back then, now it costs me 50 and I'm driving the same distance. Feels like everything's gone up way faster than my paycheck can keep up with. Crazy how quick that changed.
