My dad "helped" me redo the guest bath in my NE Heights house and we flooded the kitchen
So two Saturdays ago my dad comes over to help me swap the vanity in my guest bath off Eubank. He swears he knows plumbing because he "did it once in 1987," and I let him talk me out of shutting off the main. He goes to pull the old supply line and it snaps clean off, water spraying everywhere like a fire hose. We're both screaming, slipping on the tile, and it runs through the floor into the kitchen below, right onto my wife's laptop bag. Took the water company 40 minutes to get out and kill it at the curb, and we ended up ripping out soggy drywall plus a chunk of the kitchen ceiling. Total damage so far is about $1,800 and the guest bath is still just a hole in the wall. Anybody got a plumber in the Heights who won't laugh at me when I explain this?
