Pro tip: Fixing a suction line clog with flow reversal

Our dredge hit a thick clay layer that jammed the suction line solid. I thought about it and decided to try reversing the pump for just a couple seconds. It worked and cleared the line right up. What other quick fixes have you guys found for sudden blockages?
