A warning about family members borrowing tire repair tools without asking

My brother-in-law recently used my professional tire pressure gauge for his bike and returned it with a damaged sensor. This might seem minor, but inaccurate readings from faulty equipment can lead to serious underinflation issues on customer vehicles. I had to replace the gauge immediately to avoid compromising my work. Please consider setting clear boundaries about tool use with relatives to prevent similar situations. It's a small step that protects both your livelihood and family relationships.

I mean, relatives and tools are always a risky mix, right?

My dad and I rebuilt a deck last summer using his old tools. But I don't agree that relatives and tools are always risky. Hey @hannahgonzalez, I get your point about potential conflicts. However, shared projects can actually bring family members together. Doesn't working through a tough build teach you how to communicate? It's all about setting clear expectations and keeping a cool head.

Feel like Hannah's got a point here (sorry, Drew!). Even with the best plans, something always gets tense when you mix family and a project.

We tried to build a picnic table for Grandma's birthday last summer. We argued over measurements for an hour before realizing the wood was cut wrong. My aunt kept telling us to calm down, but the dog ran off with the hammer. In the end, the table was wobbly, but we all laughed about it later. Sometimes the mess is what makes the memory.
