PSA: I quit skimping on seam allowances for fitted garments

That tiny extra fabric made all the difference during adjustments, and now my alterations are seamless instead of stressful.

That "tiny extra fabric" point really hits home. Was there a particular type of fitted garment, like a blazer or a dress, where you found the wider allowance made the biggest difference? I'm always trying to pinpoint which projects are worth the extra material upfront.

For @janar63, 'tiny extra fabric' is key for bias-cut garments.

Actually, trousers were a game changer for me with wider allowances. That extra bit let me fix a too-tight waistband without starting over, which saved the whole project. Having room to adjust completely changes how stressful a fitting feels.

Oh, that's actually the opposite of what @janar63 said about bias cuts!
