That PS1 from the dumpster next door has me debating how we should find old games.

Honestly, I saw my neighbor get a PS1 from a dumpster and it still works. Some say saving games from trash is the real way to hunt for retro stuff. But others think it's wrong and we should only buy from shops or online. I've noticed this kind of find is getting more common in our area. Tbh, where do you all stand on this?

Your dumpster find story reminds me of my friend arguing over a rescued Atari from the curb last year.

For curb finds like that, we made a deal to share custody. It stopped the fighting pretty quick.

Splitting the games we found worked for us.

Yeah, "splitting the games" is pretty much the only way to go with curb finds or shared hauls. I've been in that spot more times than I can count, and if you try to keep everything, it just turns into a mess. What we started doing was taking turns picking, first pick one week, next pick the next, so nobody feels cheated. It also helps to be real about what you actually care about versus what's just nice to have. Those old sports games or random shovelware titles, who really needs those cluttering up the shelf? You just have to be honest with the other person and not get greedy, because once you start hoarding, it kills the whole fun of it.
