Can we talk about how some podcasts demand more patience than they're worth?

You might waste a lot of time on a podcast that never delivers if you're not careful.

Ever have a friend who stuck with a podcast way too long? My buddy Mike got into this true crime series that promised a big reveal in episode one. But every week, it was just more talk about the host's dog or something. He kept listening, sure the next episode would finally get to the point. After two months, he said it was just a bunch of filler and no real story. Felt bad for him, because that's time he'll never get back.

Two months of waiting for a story that never showed up is just sad. I can't believe the host kept talking about his dog instead of the true crime stuff. Mike should have checked reviews or something after the first few episodes. It's wild how some podcasts promise big things but deliver nothing. I feel for Mike, wasting all that time on empty teases.

Anyone catch that the host's real play was monetization the whole time? He was baiting people with true crime promises but actually building a cozy podcast about his dog. Bigger ad revenue from the "relatable pet content" crowd. Mike got played by algorithm strategy, not bad storytelling.

Mike's commitment to that podcast is kinda impressive, in a sad way. He wasted months waiting for a story that was mostly dog talk and empty teases. At least the host's pet got a lot of airtime out of the deal.
