Looking back, my neon phase was a mistake.

My first apartment had one lime green accent wall in the living room... I thought it was so cool and modern. It just felt aggressive to wake up to every morning, especially with that cheap overhead light hitting it. Took me two years to finally paint it a calm, warm gray. The whole room just instantly felt like I could breathe again.

Why do we pick such loud colors for rooms where we actually have to live? That lime green wall sounds like it went from trendy to mean real fast, just beating you up every morning.
