Question about cleaning glass before applying sealant. I was leaving streaks for years until a guy at a supply house in Tacoma told me to switch to a different cloth.

Honestly the cloth is only part of it. The real trick is the cleaner you use before the sealant. Some stuff just leaves a film no matter what you wipe with. Gotta use the right stuff or you're just smearing it around.

Oh man, that reminds me of when I tried to clean my truck's windshield with some fancy blue stuff... left the worst haze ever, like I'd rubbed wax on it. Swore off anything in a spray bottle after that. Now I just use the plain white vinegar and water mix my granddad always used, with those cheap blue shop towels. Works every time and costs nothing.

Blue shop towels are junk for glass. They leave lint and just push the cleaner around. That fancy blue stuff probably wasn't the problem, you just used a bad cloth. A proper microfiber soaks up the cleaner and actually removes the film. The right cloth makes any decent cleaner work.
