A quick heads-up about those new high-strength glass cleaners
I used to grab whatever glass cleaner was on sale at the supply house, thinking it was all basically the same. That changed about six months ago after a job in Phoenix where the summer heat fried a brand new storefront I'd just installed. The film left behind by a cheap cleaner baked onto the glass in under an hour. Now I only use a specific ammonia-free, neutral pH cleaner, like the Crystal Clear brand. The difference is night and day on tinted and coated units, with zero streaking or residue even in direct sun. It costs about 15% more per gallon, but it saves me from callbacks and unhappy building managers. I learned the hard way that not all cleaners play nice with modern glass treatments. Has anyone else run into this, or found a better product for hot climate work?

Yeah, the supply house guy warned me about that last year. Said the cheap stuff can mess with low-e coatings over time. Makes sense to spend a little more upfront.
