I'm looking at ceiling storage and really want a motorized lift. I've been comparing Fleximounts and Ace Garage Storage. Has anyone used either of these? I'm handling the mounting myself.

I had the exact same dilemma and went with Ace. Best decision I made for the garage. It was really straightforward to mount to the joists.

Just adding that Ace has a great selection of outdoor sheds too. If you are trying to clear floor space, combining a motorized lift with a shed completely transforms the area.

Fleximounts is okay for static racks, but for motorized lifts, Ace Garage Storage is far superior. The motor is way quieter and feels a lot safer when lifting heavy loads over my car.
