Slowing down cut my scrap rate by half, no joke.

My buddy kept burning out his oven's heating element. He was always blasting it to max temp right away. Slowing down the preheat cycle saved him a real headache.

Eh, I just crank the heat faster.

Used to do the same thing until my gas bill last winter. @phoenix_grant34's method just makes the furnace work harder without warming things up much faster. I started setting it a few degrees lower and leaving it alone, and the house actually feels more even.
