Rant: My travel sketchbook has been empty for years

I used to draw quick scenes from every new city I visited. Now I just take photos with my phone, and it's not the same.

Is it that drawings show what someone thinks they saw, not just what was there? Photos capture light, but drawings capture decisions, like which lines to keep or ignore. That intentional gap between reality and the page makes drawings feel like a conversation, not a recording.
