Warning: My wrists hurt so bad after a long install that I couldn't even hold a coffee cup.
I was laying luxury vinyl plank all day and didn't take any real breaks. By the end, my wrists were throbbing and stiff. The next morning, I could barely turn a doorknob. My physical therapist said it's from repetitive strain and bad ergonomics. Start doing wrist exercises now, trust me.

Ouch, I feel your pain! I laid laminate flooring in my entire living room last year and my wrists swelled up like crazy. I ended up needing to ice them every night for a week. It's amazing how much hurt a few hours of constant bending and locking can cause!

Wait, swollen wrists from laminate? That sounds over the top. I helped my cousin install flooring and we just took breaks. Are you SURE it wasn't just normal soreness? Some people make a big deal out of minor aches. A week of icing seems like a lot for basic DIY. Maybe you were gripping the tools too hard or something.

Many people install flooring without any wrist trouble if they use the right methods. Taking short breaks and keeping your wrists loose helps a lot. @derek_bailey84's case sounds extreme, but most folks can avoid that with a bit of care.
