Just got my earnest money check back after closing in Phoenix!
We closed on our little condo last week and the title company mailed the check yesterday. I was so nervous about that money being tied up for months. Our realtor in Tempe said to expect it within 10 business days, but it showed up in just 5. It feels like a huge weight is off my shoulders now that it's officially ours and the funds are settled. Has anyone else been surprised by how fast part of the process went?

Honestly seems like a weird thing to stress over. It's just a check getting mailed back, a normal part of the paperwork shuffle. People act like the whole home buying process is some huge dramatic event. It's mostly just signing things and waiting for checks to clear. Getting it in 5 days instead of 10 is just a minor win, not exactly life changing.

Oh that's great news! I get why you were nervous, that earnest money is a big chunk of change to have in limbo. It's not just paperwork, @jordanblack, it's your actual savings sitting with someone else. Getting it back fast means you can finally relax and maybe even buy something for the new place. A smooth closing like that is definitely something to celebrate.
