Appreciation post: My friend in Denver pointed out my jacket pockets were in the wrong place
I've been making my own canvas work jackets for about two years, and I always put the lower hand pockets right on the side seam. She tried one on last week and said, 'This feels weird when I put my hands in my pockets and walk.' I was putting them exactly where the pattern said, but now I see they need to be moved forward an inch so your arms hang naturally. For those who draft their own patterns, how do you check the pocket placement is right before you cut the main fabric?

Oh wow, that's such a good point about checking the actual arm hang.

That Denver friend is right, olivia398, and I always pin scrap fabric pockets first.
