Frozen like a claw machine prize" is the perfect way to put it. Sounds like your hand turned into one of those cheap plastic toys, completely useless. Next time it seizes up, just start calling it your robot hand that only does one terrible job.

Last February in Colorado, my fingers locked up just like a claw machine prize! I was trying to grip my coffee mug and my hand just wouldn't cooperate. It felt exactly like those cheap plastic toys, stiff and useless. I had to use my other hand to pry my fingers open. Calling it a robot hand is so accurate because it only wanted to stay clenched. That happened a few times when it was really cold outside.

Just imagine trying to show off your new robot hand and it drops your keys because the grip setting is permanently stuck on 'cheap stuffed animal'. You'd be stuck shaking hands with people and they'd have to wait for a system reboot to get their hand back. It's less futuristic assistant and more like that one broken crane game that eats your quarters. You wouldn't even get a cool prize, just a weird cramp and the sudden need to explain your new claw to strangers.
