Why I stopped using the job site fridge after a moldy surprise
I've been wiring houses for years, and the break room fridge is always a disaster. Last month, I saw a container of spaghetti that looked like a science project gone wrong. It's lazy and plain nasty to leave your old food for someone else to deal with. I don't get how guys who handle live wires can't toss a yogurt cup. Now I pack my lunch in a small insulated bag and keep it with my tools. It saves me from the smell and the guilt of throwing out other people's trash. We all work hard, so let's show some respect and clean up after ourselves. A messy space just brings everyone down, and that's bad for the whole crew.

What's the real reason people do this? Is it just being lazy, or do they actually think someone else gets paid to be their mom and clean up a shared space?

Honestly, calling it lazy or expecting a mom ignores how people see mess differently. Tbh, some just have their own clean standards and don't mean to bother others. A straight talk like the_hannah mentioned usually works better than assuming bad intent.

Ugh, @patlopez, we solved this at my last place by just talking it out openly. People started cleaning up when they realized others noticed the mess. How hard is it to just not leave your stuff everywhere, you know?
